The middle battery contact strip is not fixed to the case, it might got loose.
Putting the battery cover on, the game is not working, but only if the batteries gently pushed without the cover. In this game the battery contacts are not soldered to the pcb, I guess it should be used with thinner batteries otherise the contacts are pushed away from each other.
